The CSU Digital Ambassadors Program seeks to transform teaching and learning opportunities within the CSU system through the increased use of digital technologies. With particular attention to pre-service science and math teacher preparation at the undergraduate and credential level, the Digital Ambassadors are faculty leaders who champion the use of educational technologies within their respective campuses, engage faculty and educational stakeholders in the sharing of best practices and strategies for campus-specific and K-12 outreach initiatives, and function as a centralized resource for their academic and educational communities.
Funded in part by an initial gift from Google's Education Research Unit in the fall of 2012, the CSU Digital Ambassador program is coordinated by the Chancellor's office and has three goals:
1) University Leadership: CSU Digital Ambassadors will research the educational technology interests of faculty in their College and/or campus, and evaluate common obstacles, implement DA activities and events that address these obstacles, and document major/minor milestones.
2) Faculty Development: The CSU Digital Ambassador will work with campus faculty, teacher candidates, and K-12 educators to better equip and inform colleagues of ways to enhance traditional teaching methods.
3) Adoption of Digital Applications: As part of coursework or supplemental learning experiences (e.g., DA activities or events), the Ambassador will highlight artifacts from faculty, teacher candidates, and/or K-12 educators that demonstrate their adoption of digital applications.
